Veteran players and bridge trainers Graham Wood and John Botting have brought a dozen or so newbies from asking “how many numbers do I have to remember?” to asking “so when do we get to play on Wednesday nights?” The trainers have, with care and plenty of laughs and the assistance of experienced players volunteering their time, given our 2023 beginners a solid foundation in the rules and etiquette of bridge and are confident that they’ll be welcome additions to the Club.
Our beginners are now registered with NZ Bridge, giving them a number that they can use to play bridge at any club in New Zealand. We wish them all the best as they continue on their path to Grand Master!
